I see Brothers in suits very smart guys. But as I have found out on here suits are not the only thing that make a good Lodge

Yes indeed, it was a superb meeting. A most excellent dinner, great ritual, efficient business, education, and quality fellowship. Clearly Bremerton 117 is a wonderful Lodge.

Thanks Most Worshipful. I certainly don’t do what I do for recognition, I do it because I want our fraternity to do better than it has been before. We owe it to the men coming into our fraternity to fulfill the duties we are charged with, and all to often are ignored.

And it is discouraging when the heart and soul you put into it gets tossed away like garbage. It is nice to be recognized that at least some out there appreciate it.

And yes, I consider you a great friend as well. This past year has been much easier because I am with brothers that are at least listening, and this platform is part of that. We all might not agree on everything here, but I’ll sit down with any brother and have a wee dram of scotch or two with them anytime.

I imagine it wouldn't be a good thing if we all agreed about everything! Alas, we'd be the Stepford Masons.

What's important I think is that we all, as Freemasons, strive. Strive for better.

In any event, Congratulations again on the recognition, it was wonderful to see the hard work you put into our Craft acknowledged.

We have many brothers in our jurisdiction who are deserving as much recognition as Bro. Glenn. I can always count on Glenn to make the most intelligent comment or thought bubble that gets to the heart of an issue and he is deserving of your treasured confidence. We need more people like Bro. Glenn. (No, he didn't pay me to say this) :)

Indeed MW, one person can make a difference.

In doing so it is only as good as those who have been influenced to “step up” and add their own enlightenment to one’s collective Lodge moment of regeneration.

Like all volunteer organizations the excitement of the moment can fade without ongoing moments.

I have been in leadership in my adult 50 years with (6) non profits including my work with my home Lodge.

In all instances it seemed that when one “moves on” those coming up begin to dilute what that one did to bring them up while looking back I wonder “I got them there if only they can take it further”.

In my district in 11 years as a Mason I have seen just one serve two years and create a line where his moral compass stuck. I know when he steps back he knows he more than left it better then he found it…you know who I am talking about.

Yes one Mason by his deeds can offer inspiration even beyond his own Lodge.

I think you are certainly correct that a man's great influence can extend beyond his own Lodge. We see that in areas such as yours I believe. We don't have just one or two great Lodges in your area, they are all great Lodges. And I think that each Lodge, and each Mason inspiring the other has a lot to do with that.

I would also be remiss if I didn't point out that you too have had an extremely positive influence on our Gentle Craft!
