Saturday, September 20
Shall prove to be an amazing day of Masonry!
I certainly hope that you have Saturday, September 20 blocked off on your calendar! It will prove to be a truly superb day of Masonry here in beautiful Washington State!
Here’s the thing, we have a diverging path. A choice for you to make. Will you travel to the right or to the left? Will you be in the big city of Seattle, or the truly tiny town of Quilcene?
Neither choice is wrong.
The only wrong choice would be to choose neither. To miss out on both options, both of which promise a truly excellent Masonic experience.
There is no excuse, you must decide. One or the other.
Which will you choose?
Option No. 1
The Esotericism in Freemasonry Conference
Ballard, WA
Featuring MW’s Roger Nelson, and Bob Davis
Starting at 10:00 AM, ending at 4:45 PM
I’ve attended this conference a number of times in the past, and always love it. If the esoteric side of Freemasonry is of interest to you, you can’t go wrong.
All of the details are at the links below:
Option No. 2
Emeth’s Annual BBQ Contest & Starlight Fellowcraft Degree
Quilcene, WA
Featuring a day of BBQ, Fellowship, and a superb outdoor Degree under the stars.
Starting at whatever time in the morning you arrive, and ending after the nighttime Degree. In other words, we’ll start early, and end late.
This will be our fourth year for this event, it keeps getting bigger and better each time. I know that you’ll have a superb time.
Details are at:

There you have it, two amazing choices for Saturday, September 20. One rural, one urban. One outdoors, one in. All you have to do is decide.
When I first learned that these events were both happening on the same day this year I was a bit sad, for I love them both.
But then I realized that this is no call for sadness.
Rather it is a sign of how vibrant and exciting Freemasonry is becoming once again here in Washington. To have such choice is abundance indeed!
Please come. To one or the other. Either way, it’ll be a great time!

One of these has been held by my Lodge (Exemplar No. 175 in G.L. of Alberta) at a PM's farm about 20 miles southeast of Edmonton... it draws about 100 Masons. As evening falls they light the Tiki torches around the "Lodge" and place a moon in a tree but one of the things I love most is that they place a door and jamb (with a knocker on it) in the northwest corner of the Lodge and the Candidates (4 for their 3rd Degree this year) are in the house about a block away. All working in the Degree were a black hooded cloak... it is very eerie and held at the fall solstice.
I can send more info should anyone like to attend (must be an MM of course)... lots of room for a motorhome! A spectacular evening and many stay overnight! It's on September 20th and 21st.
MW Brother, I am beyond excited to go from last years candidate to helping a Brother take the next steps in his Masonic Journey. I am look forward to seeing the updates from last years preparations and look forward to helping out however I am able!
