Emeth Content Moderation Policy

I had hoped that I would not have to address moderation issues here on Emeth, but I have at two years in.

Not wanting to keep the standards secret, arbitrary, or capricious like most websites and apps, I’ll try and lay out the rules. These are not intended to stifle debate, rather to keep Emeth an enjoyable place for all. This will be a living document, as circumstances arise. Ultimately, Emeth is my endeavor, and as such, I reserve the right to moderate it as I deem fit and necessary.

  1. Emeth is about Freemasonry, and nothing else.

  2. Talking about the Illuminati in a factual or historical context is certainly appropriate. Pretending that it exists today is not.

  3. Content, including visual content, that is posted in order to increase division, conflict, and anger within our society is not in keeping with Masonic values. As was written long ago: “Freemasonry is the great peace society of the world.”

  4. We can’t help you become a Freemason here. No one, anywhere in the world can make you a Mason online. If you want to become a Freemason, you must find a Lodge in your local area, visit the Brothers there, and ask them for a petition. That is the way every Freemason, everywhere in the world has done it since time immemorial.

In North America you can find a local Lodge here. Elsewhere in the world, you may be able to find a local Lodge here.

  5. Freemasonry seeks to unite men of every country, every race, every political persuasion, and every faith. It works to break down all artificial barriers between men, to unite men of goodwill everywhere into a common band of brothers. Content contrary to that aim is not appropriate here.

  6. Non-Masons are welcome to participate here on Emeth. But, those who are not Freemasons, or who are Suspended or Expelled from Freemasonry may not claim to be members of our Ancient Craft here on Emeth, for doing so is dishonest and could lead Freemasons into an unknowing violation of their Obligations.

Content violative of these basic guidelines will be removed.

I will provide links and recommendations that I feel might be of interest to Masons throughout the Emeth platform.

But, I will not knowingly link to, or otherwise promote Ai generated written content.

A ‘writer’ presenting words as his or her own that were actually written by a computer is engaged in a dishonest and immoral act. When done commercially, through advertising, subscription, or other revenue sources, it is in my opinion fraud. And it devalues all the work of actual writers, including Masonic writers.

‘Writers’ who post Ai generated content, pretending to have written the ‘work’ themselves should not seek promotion of their ‘work’ here.
