Next year’s Esotericism In Freemasonry Conference is already being planned. It looks like it will be hosted in Seattle again, and the “Call For Papers” is out now. If you would like to be a presenter at next year’s Conference, now is the time to bring your ideas forward. Information, including contact information for the organizers who can fill you in on what your proposal should contain is here.
I thought that this ‘call for papers’ would be a good opportunity for us to have a discussion here on Emeth.
What topic or topics would you most like to see covered at a conference dealing with the esoteric side of Freemasonry?
What topic, if it was offered, would drive you to attend an esoteric Masonry conference?
What topic, or topics, if they were offered, would drive you to encourage the newer Masons of your Lodge to attend a conference designed to explore the esoteric side of our Ancient Craft?
Let’s chat about it…
In mundane news, the illness continues here, entering into its second week. I’ve missed Masonic events (Including my own Installation as Senior Warden of Doric Lodge No. 92, and non Masonic events held by my fellow Masons. I’m sorry about that. Hopefully I’ll beat this bug soon.
Alas though, getting sick was worth it if that’s what it took to give 300 people in our little City a great introduction to Freemasonry!
As I live in the UK I am not likely to attend. Being new to the esoteric side I would like to see something that goes back to the basics an esotericism 101 if you like. I am sure that I am not the only one who struggles with some of the references
Not a topic of esoterica per se, but more of definitions. What is the difference between an acquaintance, a friend, a brother, a mentor and a partner amongst the profane vs freemasons, and business vs social?
Can men and women be friends without sexual thoughts clouding the interaction? Our own MM oath suggests that it is a difficulty that must be addressed with a prohibition in the oath.
I would like to see presentations on the esoteric practices of Masons that led to occult orders, like the Golden Dawn and OTO. Also a presentation on how Masonry is related to other esoteric orders. I would also enjoy presentations that explore a life of esotericism, not unlike Brother DuQuette's " My life with spirits".
Hope you feel better soon. Being that I’m in South Carolina and it will be held in Seattle, the chances of my going are slim.

I hope you feel better MWB.

Thank you for your kind wishes. I hope to be better, and back to full speed very soon.
