The Results
Of a truly superb Masonic day
Friday night Melinda and I drove up to Quilcene and dropped my little smoker off at the Lodge.
Saturday morning we returned to the Lodge early, and found Crystal Lodge already all set up in the lawn, smoke billowing out of their massive set-up, and food being created! Those boys (and their wives) start early!
I eventually woke up enough to fire up my smoker, and W Jason was right behind me.
Thus began the day of smoking and devouring seemingly impossible quantities of meat! We had all the food groups represented: Beef, Pork, Chicken, Lamb, a truly balanced diet!
After a full day of eating, and maybe a bit of drinking, we finally served dinner. To a huge number of Masons, their families, the local Fire Department, and I think just some random folks from around town. It was really great!
Ms. Eva, wife of Doric’s own Bro. Hassib Abou-Zaki took the ‘Wildcard’ trophy.
The Crystal Lodge BBQ Team took the trophy for ‘Best Single Meat.’
W. Bro. Jason Reeder of Franklin Lodge took the ‘Grand Master’s Choice’ trophy home.
And
The Crystal Lodge BBQ Team was declared ‘Grand Champions’ for 2024.
A huge Thank You to Quilcene-Jefferson Lodge for hosting so many area Masons!
As darkness fell we all made our way out to the Outdoor Lodge room to confer the Second Degree on Bro. Chad Nowak.
It was awesome!
Everyone who participated did a superb job, and no better Degree could ever be performed by anyone anywhere!
A huge Thank You to everyone who helped make this a special and unique experience for our Brother.
Between the Degree Conferral and the Lecture, we heard a presentation from VW Scot Sageser about the importance of focusing on the fundamentals of Freemasonry to ensure that we are fulfilling its promise to our Masons, new and old.
It was mighty dark under those big trees, from my spot as Senior Deacon, I couldn’t see my counterpart Junior Deacon, but that’s the name of the game! And certainly that is much more in keeping with old traditional Freemasonry than our modern Degrees under fluorescent lighting.
We will of course be doing this again next year, and I certainly hope that you’ll be able to join us! I can’t imagine a better way to spend a day as a Mason!
And huge congratulations to Crystal Lodge, W Brother Jason, Eva, and Bro. Chad!

I love the delightful red truck! It’s sounds like a good time was had by all. Nice Cameron! ✨💜✨
Hopefully we have guaranteed sunshine and clear sky so I can bring her to the Lodge.
You did a great job finding those batteries when they tried to escape and even held them inside the lantern and continued the Degree.
We did look on the ground with the light of the SW's cell phone but couldn't see anything
Now it is 1:30pm here so I better see if I can get up and maybe make it to the Stated at #107 later tonight
Great seeing you there on saturday RW
