When I returned home from vacation I was very pleased to see that the latest edition of Heredom had arrived in the mail while I was away.
For those who don’t know, Heredom is chock full of Masonic research papers of the highest quality. It is published once a year by the Scottish Rite Research Society. At $55 per year, I’ve long felt a membership in the Society to be one of the best bargains in all of Freemasonry. Everyone should join, one need not be a Scottish Rite Mason, and can do so here:
I’ve also picked up the most excellent trophy for our BBQ contest winner! Mrs. Bailey thinks it is over the top, garish, and gaudy, so I know it is perfect! Join us, it’s going to be great fun:
I subscribe to the Fraternal Review from the Southern California Lodge of Research. Someone signed me up when I was Raised and have found the articles interesting.
Disclaimer: I am the immediate past president of the Masonic Society.
The Journal of the Masonic Society is the principal benefit of membership in the Masonic Society. Founded in 2008, we are an independent education foundation focused on Masonic culture.
In our quarterly periodical, we set out to publish what we call “the Time magazine of Freemasonry” (if you remember Time), meaning each delivers a mix of academic, esoteric, news, opinion, and criticism articles, plus artistic photography and sometimes creative writing.
Issue 58 is at the printer, and should reach our members by the end of September.
Our officers and board members over the years have included many eminent Masons you know. Writers, lecturers, organizers, curators, and all kinds of thinkers and leaders. Hodapp, Hammer, Tabbert, Craddock, Cline, Diamond, Bridegroom, Blaisdell, Bizzack, Shoemaker, Robbins, and a number of others.
And everyone loves their parchments with red wax seals that document their membership.

Since I am a S.R. member (32° )
I use my account there for the many things you can do there and one is the audio version of Albert Pike’s Morals & Dogma (By Arturo de Hoyos, 33° G.C )
Even though we get that huge book from the Lodge it makes it easier to play the audio without trying to read and have my eyes getting blurry in a few minutes >;-)
(43 episodes 48 hours, 36 minutes)
(it takes close to 80 hours to read the KJV start to finish and I am on my 8th time of doing that at Jeremiah right now again)
NOBODY will ever memorize that book.
And of course *A Bridge To Light* is not a short story either.
Of course they also have all the Scottish Rite Journal's there on the members only pages and more.
And you can also get plenty more reading at Scottish Rite Research Society
Now I know why MW Cameron stays up so late.......reading!!
I'm a member of the Quatuor Coronati
Translations of the lodge minutes including research papers presented in lodge can be subscribed too.

I hope you’ll check us out. And we are interested in what you’re writing!

In a good bit of luck, and a great bit of timing, I just got today's mail.
Lo and behold, it contained a copy of Masonry Dissected by Samuel Prichard, signed by Arturo de Hoyos and S. Brent Morris. Awesome!
It is from the Masonic Book Club. Which can be found here:
