Thank you sir! I hope to be able to attend Idaho this year, but I'm not 100% certain yet. I've got some family business that is currently conflicting, but if I can get that changed, I very much hope to be there. If I end up unable to attend, my DGM Ed Woods will attend in my place.

Congratulations MW Cameron Bailey! The craft will be in great hands. Very inspiring speech!

“Live the legend” When I first heard your message MW, I thought to myself, “This is an unusual message.” I thought to myself “I am no legend, just an average guy living my life the best way I can.” But tonight, your message resonated with me, it spoke to me as if the answer was within all along. A compelling message..

This evening was my first time back in lodge after the pandemic. The WM conducted business as usual. But one thing happened tonight that hit close to home.

A very honorable Mason came to lodge which no one expected. WB Jim Grimes. The man was admitted entering by the Tyler and JD. But tonight, Jim came to lodge unexpectedly and pleasantly on his walker to the alter, saluted the WM and sat down.

When Jim entered...a million thoughts came to my mind, I was speechless. At 97 years of age Jim still manage to attend lodge even after the pandemic. He was a very respectable mason that has a place in everyone’s heart that knew him. But seeing Jim walk to the alter, something clicked. Your message just spoke to me. Jim is a legend in our lodge; he influenced everyone he touched in some way. He was the man that invited me over to his house so he could teach me the EA posting lecture. He was the man that gave so much of himself to those around him and to masonry. Jim is a living legend.

It got me thinking, one day I will be walking to the alter to salute the WM of the lodge at my old age in my walker…How have I influence those around me? How will others see me? Will I be a pillar of strength and influence for those who is seeking light? It got me thinking about myself to seek answers within myself…I remember asking Jim as a young EA, “What is masonry Jim?” His answer, ”Masonry is a lifestyle..” as I progressed through masonry.. I’m starting to understand his answer. As the words of RW Jimmy Norton, “Masonry changes the man and the man changes the world around him..This is what it’s all about.”

Looking back at my masonic journey I can say that I am proud of the person I am becoming…and I owe it to masonry.

I respect all that is good. There is good and bad contrary to how many wish to assimilate them 1 of the same. Only in purest of intention does this truth get negated. The stone that the builders refused is still the head cornerstone.
