Hey, it’s October, and that means that we need to make Halloween plans for our Lodge!
This year my Lodge is opening itself up for two days prior to Halloween for Ghost Tours. It’s a huge event in our town each year, and I think a wonderful opportunity to show off our building. We will have each tour group for about 15 minutes, which will give us ample time to answer any questions about Freemasonry that anyone might have. Me, I don’t think our old building is haunted, but I don’t forget that Bro. Ryan’s dog always refused to enter, so maybe the dog is smarter than me!
In the past we have had Halloween parties for our Masons, their families and friends. I imagine that we’ll be arranging something very similar this year as well.
Finally, in previous years, we have worked with our Rainbow group to hand out candy to trick or treaters as part of the downtown association. A little card explaining Rainbow taped to the candy is quick and easy advertising of what that group has to offer. Hopefully we will be able to do that again this year as well.
All of these things together tell our Community that we are here, we are involved, and we are fun! Halloween is a superb opportunity for our Lodge.
Now that I’ve spilled the beans on my Lodge, let’s discuss it.
What is your Lodge going to be doing this Halloween?
If no plans are made yet, there is still time, is there something cool you think your Lodge should do? Can you sell the idea to your Brothers?
On Sunday evening we will be having our weekly Rummer & Grapes gathering over zoom for all those holding a paid subscription to Emeth. If you would like to join us but don’t yet hold a paid subscription, please upgrade before noon on Sunday to ensure that you receive the login information.
I just chaperoned a couple of “ghost hunters” for a couple hours late last night so they could do an investigation at my lodge. It was…amusing I suppose. I don’t believe in ghosts so it all seemed a bit silly. But the “spirits” seemed more interested in talking to me than the gals doing the investigation. The little weird scanner thing seemed to respond to me talking about the history of the lodge. Particularly when i mentioned the name of one of the old lodges that used to meet there. Haha. We might let them do yours like you do at your building.

Love the graphic, Cameron!
