Over the past few days I’ve been exploring a new online space, Substack Notes, and would love for you to join me there!
Notes is a brand new space on Substack for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. I plan to use it for things that don’t fit in the newsletter, like work-in-progress or quick questions. I don’t have it all figured out yet, but together we’ll see what works, and how we all prefer to utilize it.
If you, like me, are fatigued by the division and negativity on social media, this new space just might be a better place to spend some time, talking about Freemasonry, and how we can continually improve our Lodges.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Emeth, you’ll automatically see my notes, and those from the other Substacks you hold a subscription to. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of Emeth can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond. Another space, and another way for us to share all the great things we find in Freemasonry.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
I was one of the people chosen to help test and start Substack's new "Notes" feature. I've been using it for a few days, and have enjoyed the experience.
I ended up finding some new Substacks that I enjoy, and talking with some cool people.
When you try it, I think the most important thing you'll want to know is that right at the top you'll see two tabs or buttons. One marked "Home" the other "Subscribed."
If you hit the "Subscribed" button you'll see "Notes" from Emeth, and from any other Substacks you hold a subscription to. You won't see anything from anyone that you don't have that direct relationship with.
If you want to broaden things out a bit, you can do so by hitting the "Home" button. This will show you "Notes" not only from Emeth, and any other Substacks you hold a subscription to, but also from those Substacks that are recommended by Emeth, or other publications you are subscribed to. Either way, you won't just see random stuff, it will all be from within a fairly tight network.
I'm kinda lost with all these different ways to interact. As it is I rarely check in the chat area. Not really seeing the benefit beyond what we already have working, personally.
