That would be great! Haven't worked out the details yet, but yes, I think we should do the traditional categories you mention, plus probably a chicken category, and an open category accepting anything anyone can dream up! I need a place for my Al Pastor and I don't think I could convince anyone it fits in any normal category.
I'm rather figuring an all day event. Especially guys who are cooking things like brisket will need to have it going while the roosters sleep. I look forward to enjoying the fellowship while the food cooks, eating the winners around supper time. Lots of things that can be grilled quickly around lunchtime too.
Unless it looks to be larger than I can handle here, I'm planning on doing it at my house. If it does look to be huge, I'll need to find somewhere larger.
Centralia is a great place because we are half way between Seattle and Portland, with plenty of places to stay for out of area folks, and lots of grocery stores for the spices one forgot to bring. Plus very easy transportation in and out via Amtrak for those who don't want to drive. My house offers lots of shade, the parking lot at the Lodge offers none. That was my thinking anyway.
Sounds awesome. I can't cook, but I'd be happy to help dispose of the results.
That would be great! We need hungry people!
I just might bring an entry. Any specific categories? Brisket? Pulled pork? Dry rub baby backs?

Nothing better than BEEF
I don't know, my Al Pastor is mighty fine!
What time? At centralia lodge? This is the kind of local event I have been waiting for.

Dang it you made me hungry now… that’s a long time to build an appetite!
True, but I'm quite certain it will be worth the wait!
I just checked on G-maps: 4200 km = 1 day and 15 hrs drive...😱 Is it OK if I skip this time?
Only two hours from Sea-Tac Airport! ;-)
I just checked and it says about 2 hours from up here in Port Ludlow........but then driving to my post office or the Lodge is a drive for me.
Port Ludlow to Centralia, taking the fun route, is a truly spectacular drive! Two hours of amazing scenery!
The trip from Port Ludlow to Wenatchee was amazing too........since I wasn't driving I got to see things I hadn't seen since 1972
We will pay your way here if you pay for our trip to Lodge Mother Kilwinning Scotland Brother
>:-D
All I can offer a trip to the Kilwinning Lodge (No. 565) in Toronto ;)
Ah now that explains why Brother Jason Reeder left the S.R. Zoom meeting so fast last night to be at the BBQ Zoom !
I have seen him in the Lodge kitchen a couple times and he was like a French Restaurant Chef !!
I am a professional microwave cook myself
> :-D
Our Brother did inform us that he is a most excellent Pit Master!
I would love to compete in this, however I will be at the Kitsap Chapter DeMolay Instalation that day.
Sorry we will miss you Brother.
