To have GL take up the banner of education, to get us all on the same page, would be a fantastic endeavor worth moving forward on. Many lodges, in their own ways, try to provide esoteric education but it’s hit and miss. If GL could be a consistent leader in the area education it would be a great step toward the revival of Freemasonry.

Many have attended the middle chamber from my district. 4 full days of education, meditation, reflection, reading. It's almost like a boot camp and generally well attended. Nc has invested a tone in masonic education over the last decades. Wilkerson college (general speakers), the Davie academy (how to run a lodge and manage financials), and the middle chamber(escoteric). They also maintain an active speakers bureau (registry of men willing to travel to lecture).

I just ordered this book. It will arrive in a little over a week. If anyone else is ordering it, or reading it now, maybe we could all have a zoom call to discuss?

I would be very pleased to set up a call so that we can discuss it as a group! That is an excellent idea!

I once sat in a normal stated lodge meeting where the secretary spent 20 minutes wasting everyone's time, by reading each check number, who it was from, and the amount. It was the end of the year and people had sent in their dues. Twenty minutes of "Check Number 19232, From Brother Bob Bitchin, in the amount of seventy two dollars". Thank God someone later had a discussion with the secretary, because things eventually got better.

I agree, the push for Masonic Education must be driven from GL, as it seems a lot of lodges aren't getting the memo. There are a lot of resources available both in Grandview, speakers bureaus, publications, but as my dad used to say, "buy them books and all they do is eat the covers". Send it out as quarterly GM communications so that it has to be read in lodge.

Well spoken, Brother. With several new members in my Lodge, as Master, I want it to mean way more than coming to Lodge just to attend Lodge. They are sooo hungry for knowledge, I can't let them down.

This is why I joined. I've found other things in the fraternity that I enjoy now. So it's less of a focus, but I'm still very interested in the philosophical and spiritual aspects.
