St. John’s Lodge in Seattle is planning its 2022 Annual Tour, and this year’s destination is Scotland. Six more travelers can be accommodated, and the Lodge has graciously decided to offer those spaces to any interested Emeth readers.
One need not be a Mason to attend, so wives are certainly welcome.
The commitment deadline is February 28, so a firm decision needs to be made soon.
The tour proposes to visit as many Lodges and Masonic sights as possible, including: The Grand Lodge of Scotland, Lodge Killwinning No. 0, Lodge Tarbolton (Robert Burns’ Lodge,) Edinburgh St. Mary’s Lodge No. 1, The Royal Order of Scotland, Inverness Lodge, St. Andrew’s Lodge, Oban Lodge.
The day prior to the start of the tour all will travel to Edinburgh and the first two nights of the tour will be spent in that city. Highlights will include visits to the Castle, a Whisky Experience, Holyrood Palace, The Grand Lodge of Scotland, Lodge No. 1, The Royal Order of Scotland.
Day three will be spent in Ayr. Highlights will include visits to Rosslyn Chapel, and Melrose Abbey.
Day four will be spent in Glasgow. Highlights will include visits to the Burns Cottage, Lodge Killwinning, and Lodge Tarbolton.
Day five will be spent at Oban, with a visit to Oban Lodge, and Loch Lamond.
Day six will be spent touring Mull and Iona. Day seven will be spent seeing Fort William, Glenfinnan, Mallaig, Skye, and Portree.
Day eight will include a visit to Loch Ness, and Inverness, with a trip to Inverness Lodge.
Day nine will include a tour of Glenfiddick Distillery, Balmoral Castle, and a visit to St. Andrew’s Lodge.
Day ten will include a visit to the Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, Bannockburn, and Falkirk Wheel. The stay will again be in Edinburg, and will feature a Farewell Ceighigd.
The tour will take place in the September/October timeframe, and is limited to 16 people. The estimated cost is $5000.00 per person, including airfare. The actual trip is twelve days, including two flight days.
