A very long time ago, a Mason, Oswald Wirth, wrote what I consider to be truly exceptional books for the three Degrees of Masonry1. Study guides if you will, designed to be given to each new Mason following his Degree.
But, here’s the thing.
Oswald Wirth was not a Regular Mason. By our standards he was an irregular Mason, made such in an irregular Masonic Grand Orient.
Given that, what I’d like to discuss tonight is:
Would it be appropriate for a Lodge to use Brother Wirth’s books to instruct its new Masons?
