I had the pleasure of traveling with on that trip, It was and probably will be one of the best Mansonic trips in our state ever for me. VW Buster was a great Mansonic leader for our craft, and was an instant friend. Buster was the straw that stir the drink in his area. His passing will leave a very large hole in many hearts. Rest in peace VW Brother Buster you will be truly missed.

I’d like to echo what VWB Clay mentioned – it was on a different trip that I had with you that I first met then-WB Buster – it was the District 22 meeting clear up in Oroville, a rock throw from the Canada border. First time I met him, and it was tough to stop chatting with him (as I had things to do standing in for our Grand Secretary.) Lots of knowledge, extremely easy to talk to. Fun person to be around.

The next time was at least one of the Annual Communications. Such a blast. As well as the Zoom District meeting during your term.

Another cool, and important aspect of VWB Buster was, as you mentioned, he made sure we got to know other Brothers who lived in the Okanogan region. I knew a couple already, but after Buster, I got to know, and currently know, many more. While Okanogan County is fairly remote in Washington State, it’s great to know that there are many great, friendly people who live in the Methow and Okanogan River valleys, as well as other areas in the region. An excellent group of Lodges that work well together. And Buster was a key part in letting us in the rest of the state know that. An excellent legacy that benefits everyone who got a chance to know him.

I say “Farewell my Friend”… can’t bare “Goodbye”!

A dear old friend of mine, Bro. Norm Dyck, recently passed. He and another Bro. golfed together… not once did either of these great men asked me to join Freemasonry!

One morning in the spring of 1993 on the first tee box I asked, “What does a guy do to join Freemasonry?… they both smiled and said, “You just did it!” and carefully started me on this wonderful journey… Norm Passed to the Grand Lodge Above last week… Farewell my Brother and dear, dear friend.

I am sorry for your loss, your friend lived respected and truly died regretted. IMHO The only measure of a good man is the grieving friends and family those he leaves. But remember that although the bitter scythe of death may prune us, a sprig though cut, can be planted and grow again. You will be reunited. I pray that his memory and his wisdom sustain you until your inevitable reunion. Peace be on you and your friend who is in a better place.

We are fortunate to have such men in our lives, even if it is for a small amount of time. It makes “…the world a better and happier place for their having lived in it.”

My condolences MW.
