Happy Thanksgiving!
May you have a truly wonderful holiday
Just a quick note to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Quick, but serious as I reflect on my blessings this day.
3011 of you have decided that you want to receive an email every time I write something. Another 3860 have decided to be notified in the app. How amazingly awesome is that? That more days than not, 6871 people want to read what I write, on the funny little topics I’ve chosen to write about! Plus however many stumble across the website each and every day.
Emeth is read by people in all 50 states. The leading states are: Washington, California, New York, Texas, and Florida. Across 125 countries, lead by: the United States, India, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. I find it fascinating to learn where Emeth is read most.
It makes me extremely proud to have each and every one of you here.
But, more importantly, I am truly thankful that you’ve chosen to be here with me.
I write to stimulate thought, and I certainly hope that I accomplish that, at least sometimes. Occasionally I write lighthearted things, or of my own odd little quirks, but I hope that on the whole what is published here is thought provoking, and once in awhile, entertaining.
A writer though can’t really exist without a reader. At least not in a meaningful way. And you are my reader, as such, you allow me to be a writer. My most fulfilling role. For that, you have my sincere and everlasting gratitude.
Yesterday, I wrote of permanence. The permanence of ink on paper in our society where that is very quickly disappearing. As such, I must once again give my thanks to the Grand Lodge of Oregon, and its Robert Richmond Library, for being the permanent home of everything I write here. (Even though I am really slow at the ongoing project of getting paper and electronic copies to that truly beautiful facility.)
Finally, most importantly, I must give my profound Thanks to each one of you who have purchased a paid subscription, making Emeth a bestseller here on Substack. That threshold was crossed in January of 2023, and with your help, has been maintained ever since.
The fact of the matter is that I’m certainly not getting rich here on Emeth. If I was to figure it out, my income per hour of work on this project would be some small fraction of the minimum wage. But that isn’t what’s important. What is important is that I could not do this, I could not write here as I do, were it not for the needed financial support that each and every one of you who holds a paid subscription provides.
It truly would not be possible without you. So more than anything, each of you has my most sincere thanks.
I hope that you have a truly wonderful Thanksgiving!
Emeth will be back, exploring Freemasonry in all its aspects next week after we have all had an opportunity to enjoy this wonderful holiday.
Thank you, for all that you do. For me, and for our Ancient Craft.

Your words are important. The discussions are critical, and more often than not, these debates do not happen in the Lodge. And besides, your big draw is the hats. I, myself, prefer the tinfoil types. Now, off to cook for the kiddos.
Happy Thanksgiving!
