“I didn’t feel like video was it for me. My voice is odd, I look goofy, and I get nervous recording myself.”
“My voice is odd…” No, it’s not. It’s distinctive. VERY Distinctive. Enough to when you were introduced as a Past Grand Master at the most recent Annual Communication, half the Grand Lodge was giving an impression of your voice. How many people can say they’ve had that distinction, other than celebrities?
“I look goofy…” Yeah. Along with the rest of us. You blend in great!
“I get nervous recording myself.” Now THAT’s something a lot of us have to deal with. I get it. And I will admit you can manage it, but not completely master it.
“So five years ago, when this platform was still small and trying to get traction, I jumped on board…” I think it was “Writeas” before that. I believe I still have a few of those articles on one of my hard drives. Yeesh, that goes clear back into the 2010’s…
As for the OES “Carpet”, I also remember they had an OES light in the east in that Lodge. All neon. It was the coolest neon light, and I think I’ve only seen one other in Western Washington. I don’t know where it went.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 years. It still feels like 2020 was only a few weeks ago. In about a week, it’ll be 6 years since the close-down for COVID started.
I look forward to renewing this year under the Travelers A-Chord account when my personal subscription ends, as it is the account I am most consistent with.
I agree with VWB Clayton, you have a distinctive verbal presence, one that is often imitated, and rarely replicated.
I wonder if the OES chapter in Centralia may have a need of it. Perhaps Ryan's fiancee might have an answer for that?
Yes, I expect that "Emeth" had to do with an "Electronic method"! But when I first arrived in Everett Washington, I encountered guys standing on street corners YELLING at something. I was told they were "Meth Heads"?

Centralia used to have a carpet, but they use the painted star on the floor now. The Chapter welcomed it, as the carpet was a trip hazard.
MWPGM Bailey,
