Welcome to Emeth by me!
So, who am I?
Fair question. I’m Cameron Bailey. Currently I’m the Deputy Grand Master of the MW Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of Washington.
I’m pretty sure that I basically live Freemasonry. I’m a member of Sultan-Monroe Lodge #160, Skykomish Lodge #259, Centralia Lodge #63, and Grand Mound Lodge #3. I’ve served in most Lodge offices, including Master and Secretary of Centralia #63. I’ve served as District Deputy to the Grand Master for District 17, and on a number of Grand Lodge Committees.
I also serve as a trustee of Washington Masonic Charities, and perhaps uniquely in the world of Freemasonry, I’m a registered contract lobbyist for the Grand Lodge of Washington.
So, what is Emeth?
Another fair question. Emeth is a newsletter. An email newsletter that will also be published on the web. It is my intention to publish once a week, on Sunday mornings.
I also hope that Emeth can grow into a unique community. A place in which we can interact around a shared love for and interest in all things Masonic. An online space in which we can all learn the sacred lessons our Ancient Craft has to offer.
So, why Emeth?
A lot of questions! I must admit, also fair. I write about Freemasonry. I’ve written about Freemasonry for many years and published in many places. I enjoy writing about Freemasonry, and lots of Freemasons tell me that they find value in my writings.
The thing is though, I don’t do very well without a goal, a deadline, without pressure. That simple fact means that I write about Masonry a lot less than I’d like to write about it. Call me weird that way.
Emeth will drive me to write more. To write what I want to write, and to help me along my own Masonic path. With Emeth, I’m promising you quality content on a very regular schedule. A Sunday morning weekly deadline. You are throwing me some cash for my writing, so I am obliged to provide it as promised. To provide interesting and thought provoking content as promised. That is pressure. Pressure helps me do what I want to do.
So, what do you do for fun?
I make sure that the cornerstone for the new Mossyrock fire station is level.
