For years now, the Esotericism In Freemasonry conference has brought amazing Masonic speakers and educators together, so that all of us here in the Pacific Northwest can explore the varied richness of our Ancient Craft.
This year’s conference will once again take place in the beautiful Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, at the comfortable Ballard Masonic Temple.
Friday, September 29 through Sunday, October 1
Tickets are available here:

Lodging options are abundant in Seattle, but if you want to stay right near the Masonic Temple, both the Ballard Inn, and the Hotel Ballard still have rooms available. You can book here:
I’ll be staying at the Ballard Inn, but if you are staying outside of easy walking distance, there is ample parking around and behind the Masonic Temple.
Our newer Masons consistently say that they want more Masonic Education. That they want to peer behind the veils in order to understand the hidden meanings behind our Masonic ritual and symbolism.
And that’s a good thing. That is, after all, our job as Freemasons.
This conference is an excellent opportunity for more seasoned Masons to bring along those newer to the Craft. To give those new Brothers what they came to Freemasonry in search of.
It is also a wonderful opportunity for those of us who are well seasoned in Masonry to experience new perspectives, and learn new ways of looking at things, so that we can bring those perspectives and that information back to our own Lodges. Improving our local Lodge in the process.
I have attended this conference multiple times through the years, and I have always returned home from it with a deeper understanding.
I encourage everyone in the Pacific Northwest, who happens to be reading this post to attend. You have so much to gain from it. Trust me, it’s going to be a hell of a lot more fun than lying on your sofa, watching reruns.
I also encourage Masons from elsewhere to consider flying in to experience it. It’s that good. I would argue that it is truly world class.
But here’s the thing, and now I must speak frankly.
Two things are needed to pull off a major conference such as this. Money, and participation. If people don’t buy tickets, and don’t come, the men who work tirelessly to put this on for all of us each year won’t be able to continue.
Tickets are very cheap. $102 gets you the entire event.
Contrast that with the Northwest Tarot Symposium taking place here on the same weekend, with tickets of $444.
(Here is where you must cry for me, because I really, really want to attend both of these amazing events, but alas, I had to choose.)
I would argue that as Freemasons we have a duty to be generous with our time, and our money, in order to support those Masons who are providing the opportunities for the fellowship and education that we seek.
But, it’s not only our duty. For if we are not generous with our time, and our money, the people who provide those opportunities for us will not be able to continue, and our own personal Masonic experience will inevitably be dimmed.
Please come.
More importantly, if you are a mentor to a newer Master Mason, bring him along with you! When you took on the role of his mentor, you agreed to educate him about Freemasonry, and bringing him along will go a very long way towards fulfilling that responsibility.
Your attendance will make this year’s conference another smashing success!
Your attendance will also serve to greatly enhance your own understanding of Freemasonry, and as a result, your own personal Masonic experience.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity!
I already have my ticket and will see you there!
Having attended once, I would agree with what MWB said, but will add that those of you interested in the esoteric, this may be your best and easiest way to network and find like minds. If you are esoterically minded, you may experience a bit of isolation de[ending on where you lodge is located. This is an opportunity to share, listen and relax into your esoteric interests and feel connected with others.....
