An Update
On Mrs. Bailey and her nurse
They kept Mrs. Bailey in the hospital quite a bit longer yesterday than planned.
It seems that they couldn’t convince her to actually breathe enough to keep adequate oxygen levels in her blood.
And they didn’t want to send her home with oxygen tanks. That was probably a good idea, cause if she had oxygen running I’d probably decide it was a good time to start up a big ol’ cigar and blow the house to smithereens!
So, they kept her there until she could prove to them that she could breathe enough, unassisted by oxygen, over an hour or so to keep herself going.
She’s home now, and I’ve started my new career as her nurse.
I’ve got to take good care of her, or I get beaten with a stick.
Actually, switching to serious mode for a moment, I’m pleased to announce that she is doing exceptionally well, at least to my untrained eye.
She’s up and moving around, eating, her pain seems manageable, and she no longer looks as if she’s on death’s doorstep.
It’s kind of human nature, I think, to denigrate the hospital in one’s own town. To assume that care is better elsewhere. As the old saying goes, familiarity breeds contempt.
But, I have to say that I think she received truly superb care in our local hospital. The doctors, nurses, and everyone else were all quite wonderful and she is clearly on the fast track to complete healing.
After her discharge we did have quite an ordeal. Things went from bad to worse, but that’s all taken care of now. You can read about the ordeal, if you are bored, right here:
In any event, I know that I’m supposed to be writing about Freemasonry here, and not our ongoing experiences with the medical system, but I wanted to provide everyone with this brief update.
In brief, she is doing remarkably well, and I presume she’ll be back to 100% in a week or two.

Glad she’s doing better!
Drowning on oxygen is a scary thing and O2 saturation levels are nothing to mess with. We are glad to hear that Melinda is doing better.
I hope you are enjoying the career change and the pay increase that goes along with it, though I hope you find the time to continue your literary pursuits...
I believe this topic falls firmly under the Masonic topics of Brotherly Love and Relief...😜
I am glad to hear your house is not at risk of spontaneous combustion!
