Quietly, I am unsure about the term "Emeth". When I first arrived in Everett Washington to go to work as an engineer on the Boeing Commercial Airplanes 777 Final Assy Line, there were a few guys on street corners yelling and pointing at the sky. I was told they were "Meth Heads"?
I have received a fair amount of grief from friends through the years, teasing me that I'm somehow promoting a new form of Meth! Specifically I suppose, the vaping of methamphetamine! 😎
Alas though, Emeth is a word utilized in the Scottish Rite.
Our Brother Albert Pike, in his The Book Of The Words defined Emeth, as used in ‘high degree’ Freemasonry. He wrote that it means:
MWB Bailey. I appreciate the consideration of "to pay, or not to pay", and am currently considering how best to apply it to some of my own aspirations. Some things I think need to be freely given, though I also am acutely aware of those pesky bills.
After this subscription expires I look forward to subscribing under the account that I will be populating with content of my own as I find time. Thank you for some additional perspective on the matter.
Ultimately, my overarching goal with Emeth is to create something that improves the Masonic experience for everyone, and that provides everyone with actionable ideas that they can take back to their Lodges, thus improving their Lodges.
Fulfilling that goal requires, in my mind at least, the broadest possible readership. Hence the 'Free Love Hippy' model. Despite the fact that I'm not a fan of the hippies! 🤣
But yes, one does have to ensure that there are enough dollars coming through in order to keep the thing up and going. Without those who purchase a subscription here, it would not be possible. I do wish it was otherwise, but we do live our lives under capitalism. As such, we can't ignore the importance of dollars any more than we can ignore the importance of the tides.
So, I try to strike a balance, and indeed I don't have any choice but to strike a balance.
I’m intuitive about what I need to save behind the wall, too. You want to troll-proof things! But thank you so much for the Keystone tip, I’m I love the draw!
Thank you very much, and I think you hit the mark exactly. Some things need to be troll-proofed, and the paywall here is the best way to ensure that. Otherwise I fear that people would be less inclined to share about sensitive subjects.
And, I'm really glad that you enjoyed The Keystone!

E-meth. Kind of like E-Books or E-Cigarettes.
That does it, I'm signing you up for remedial Scottish Rite classes! 🤠
